Phi Systems track Rogue Internet Diallers ...

With immediate effect Phi Systems will not connect any calls to the destinations listed below. This is because these destinations (most of which are Pacific or African Islands) have been repeatedly used by organised criminals to terminate rogue internet diallers (malicious software that is downloaded to a customer`s PCs and then triggers calls to expensive destinations). Our investigations have shown that over 99% of all call traffic to these countries is not authorised by our customers and is therefore considered to be fraudulent.
The one disadvantage of the change is that individual customers can not opt in to calling the destinations. Although it is a very small number of customers who will legitimately want to do this we are working on a solution to provide this option.
